Application process

1. Create an account | If you haven’t already, you’ll need to create a login. Save your progress, pick up where you left off, check your status, or start another application.

2. General information | In addition to general contact information, we ask for your Social Security number for admission account identification, federal reporting requirements, and financial aid. This information will remain secure and confidential.

3. Education history | Capella will need transcripts from all past universities, including military and other educational providers such as Sophia or Straighterline.

4. Request transcripts | With your permission, we’ll request transcripts from your other schools and, upon receipt of those transcripts, automatically apply all eligible transfer credits to your programs. Learn more about transfer credits.

5. Admissions materials | Depending on your program, you may need to provide additional materials, such as letters of recommendation or your resume.

6. Employment | Capella provides discounts to employees of select companies. Check with your enrollment counselor to see if you’re eligible.

7. Financial aid | You have the option to fill out your financial aid application at this time—or come back to it later.

8. Additional forms | Depending on your program, you may need to submit additional forms, such as licensure information or assessments. See more admission requirements.

9. Submit application | We’ve decided to waive all application fees until further notice.
